Smoke & the Poet is a new and upcoming six-piece
Country/Folk band taking Northern Virginia by storm. The
band is led by singer/songwriter Joey Kuplack whose catchy
melodies and poetic lyrics challenge both the country and folk
genres. Joey brings real experiences and his love of adventure
to his songs which are given life through the band’s unique and
energetic sound and instrumental blend, featuring banjo,
fiddle, and electric guitar.
Their debut at the Appaloosa Music Festival last year led the
D.C. Music Review to say: “Smoke & The Poet was
phenomenal. What an amazing performance. . if the festival
organizers pick stocks as well as they pick emerging talent,
they would be bazillionaires.”
The band operates out of Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah
Valley, taking musical inspiration from both the land and the
people. Over the past year, Smoke & The Poet has been keeping
people hopping at Northern Virginia music festivals and
venues, including Union Stage, Jammin Java, and the
Monument.
